About Ruthie

Seeking an experienced and responsible home for our girl Ruthie (Ru). Ruthie is extremely intelligent, goofy, and sweet. Ruthie is 1/2 Karakachan dog and 1/2 mixed with other livestock guardian dog breeds similar to Great Pyrenees. Ru exhibits typical guardian dog behaviors including resource guarding and wariness of strangers. She needs a confident and experienced handler to manage her resource guarding. Ru is accustomed to living both inside and outside, and would do best in a home with a large yard where she can run and bark. Ru does not have experience guarding livestock. She has been a family dog her whole life and thrives with strong emotional bonds with her people. She has been a wonderfully sweet dog for 5.5 years, but is not adjusting well to a new baby and we feel it is only fair for everyone's well being to find a new home for this girl.
