One look into miss Mochi's eyes and you immediately see the sweetest, most gentle soul. Mochi is a 6 month old, 31-lb Lab mix with a huge heart, a goofy personality, very friendly temperament and the spirit of a true fighter. ��%BD��%BD%BD��%BD��%BD%BD%90%BE Mochi is currently in the active recovery phase of canine distemper. She is stable, energetic, playful, and winning her fight every single day! ��%BD��%BD%BD��%BD��%BD%BD��%BD��%BD To support her immune system and gut health, I give her a simple and affordable daily probiotic powder mixed right into her food once a day. I will also give you her anti-seizure meds for emergencies. ��%BD��%BD%BD��%BD��%BD%BD��%BD��%BD%BD'��%BD��%BD%BD Mochi's needs & home setup ��%BD��%BD%BD��%BD��%BD%BD%8D��%BD��%BD%BD Because distemper is contagious to other dogs, Mochi must be the only dog in the home and kept completely isolated from other dogs. Dogs can still actively shed the distemper virus for weeks to months after their diagnosis. She needs her own private yard/outdoor space until she is given the green light that she isn't contagious anymore. The vet I have been working with recommends a Distemper PCR panel in 2-3 months to see if she's still shedding the virus or not. Her distemper dance may also never go away. But! She is actively recovering, super energetic, playful and snuggly. She doesn't let her condition define her and be the end of her story.
