Rocky is a Mini Doodle, about 15-20lb. His papers say goldendoodle but he looks like a Cockapoo. He is 5 years old and is neutered and up to date on shots. Rocky had been with the same family his entire life, and since they gave him up he is sad, confused, and afraid. Currently, he may snap at the air if forced to do something he doesn't want too, I have not observed him making contact with his teeth, but his defensive behavior needs to be taken seriously. I can't know for sure but it appears to me that it is fear and confusion based. He has also displayed defensive snapping toward my dogs, but he is allowing the cats to come up to him and eat his food. He will need a slow building of trust and he will need patience. Rocky supposedly will mark in the house occasionally, so will need to be trained to stop if it becomes a problem, or will need to wear a belly band in the house. Rocky needs an experienced, patient adopter who understands defensive behavior and can respect his boundaries without allowing unsafe behavior. He needs someone who understands that trust is earned over time, that progress may be slow, and that there may be setbacks along the way. If you would like to be the one to earn heartbroken Rocky's trust and love, send me a message.
