DUCHESS is a 2-year-old, 8 pound Dapple Chihuahua who was found as a stray. Sadly, no one came forward to claim her so she is ready to find her furever family. DUCHESS is a beautiful little girl with a sweet, affectionate personality and so much love to give. She is incredibly loving and enjoys being close to her people. She loves sitting in your lap, cuddling, and giving kisses. She needs a home where she will be able to spend a lot of time with her people. She's not particularly interested in spending much time outside and would much rather be indoors with her people. DUCHESS is fine with other small dogs and would enjoy having a home with a small playful canine companion. But she would also be good as an only dog in the right home. She has not been tested around children, but because of her small size, we would prefer a home without toddlers or young children. Respectful, dog-savvy children ages 10 and older may be a good fit. Her compatibility with cats is unknown. DUCHESS has learned to use the dog door and is making great progress with her house training. She's still learning, so her new family will need to be patient and consistent. She's not particularly comfortable walking on a leash yet, but with practice and encouragement, we believe she can improve. A securely fenced yard is required. We want to make sure she has a safe environment as she adjusts to her new home. At bedtime, DUCHESS prefers to sleep in her own dog bed on the floor next to her person's bed. DUCHESS has been spayed and is up to date on shots. She is heartworm negative, has received a ProHeart 12 heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. *To meet or adopt one of our dogs, you must first submit an adoption application for review.
