About Ginger Snap

Adoption Fee: $50
Poodle / Lab
Age: Senior
Sex: Female

I, sadly, need to rehome my labradoodle. This is not a decision I am making easily. She is an 11-year old female and is roughly 28 lbs. The biggest reason I feel I can no longer keep her is mostly due to her health issues. We have spent thousands of dollars over the years taking her to the Univ of TN vet clinic where she was diagnosed with essentially IBS, and have made multiple trips through the years to our local vet to deal with several bouts of pancreatitis and colitis. She was put on a restricted diet of nothing but hydrolyzed protein, which ended up having to be the moist food rather than the dry food because she still would throw up the dry food. She has done ok with our other doodle, and has been tolerant of other dogs she has been around when she's been on her leash, but I don't know how she would do living with other dogs or cats. She has done ok when grandchildren have been around, but does 'snap' (she has never bit) at them when they have pulled her ears or tail or gotten too close to her face. Because of the expense of her food, vet visits, and grooming, I feel I can no longer keep her. I have a second doodle, a male who is 4 years younger, who I would prefer to be able to rehome withe her, but understand if that is not a possibility.
