Sweet rescued lovebug seeking an only-cat home I am absolutely gutted to write this. Four months ago, I found Baxter critically dehydrated and barely able to stand near 13th and I St NE. The emergency vet said he likely would not have survived much longer. He had no chip, was still intact, and was estimated to be around two years old. Today, Baxter is healthy, vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped-and he has one of the sweetest hearts I've ever encountered. He's 12 pounds of pure muscle but an absolute cuddle bug. He's playful, curious, endlessly entertaining, and fascinated by running faucets. After a full day of investigating everything, he loves curling up beside you for a long cuddle. Unfortunately, despite months of patient, gradual introductions, Baxter has not been able to live safely with my two resident cats. He continues to attack them when they share space, so I'm searching for a loving home where he can be the only cat. He has never shown aggression toward me or any other person-his difficulty is specifically with other cats. Baxter is truly special. If my other cats were safe with him, there is absolutely no way I would let him go. I'm hoping to find someone in the DC area who wants an affectionate, hilarious, devoted companion and can give him the peaceful home he deserves. Please message me if you-or someone you trust-might be the right forever home for Baxter.
