Max is currently in the Little Rock animal shelter, which has the highest kill rate of any shelter in the state and euthanizes 60% of dogs who come in. Max is believed to have been dumped near the airport in LR (common dumping area). When I stepped out my front door Friday morning Max came running up to me like he had known me his whole life, he was so excited and happy. He jumped up on me, and another loose dog that had been hanging around the neighborhood for a while didn't like that. He approached Max and was aggressive, and initially Max thought the other dog was playing, then he realized he wasn't and tried submitting, and eventually they had a brief spat that I was able to break up very easily. To keep them from having any more problems I put Max in my back yard, where he spent the day. Max is a large dog, he is a big boy and somewhat of a baby. He was very happy to get attention and whined some when left alone, but not excessively or even close. He didn't destroy anything in the yard, he didn't fight at the fence with the neighbors dog, he was just a very happy dog every time I went back to check on him. I honestly wish SOOO badly that I could keep him. He's beautiful, he's sweet, and he's well behaved. He deserves so much more than to be in the shelter right now!! It's breaking my heart. Unfortunately, one of my neighbors called animal control. I guess he was in her yard before he was in mine and he's so big that she was scared. He WILLINGLY got into the animal control truck, completely unaware that he would end up somewhere that he didn't want to be. PLEASE somebody go get this sweet boy and give him a chance at life
