Ozzie is a beautiful 9-year-old, 20-pound Miniature Australian Shepherd with a bubbly personality and plenty of spunk left in her! She is a happy, independent girl who loves having a backyard to explore, room to run, and a good bone to chew. She'll happily come over to say hello, enjoy a little attention, and then head off to entertain herself. Ozzie is affectionate without being clingy and is perfectly content enjoying her own little world. Ozzie has a high energy level and loves having space to stretch her legs. She is comfortable spending time outside and prefers having a yard where she can dig herself a cozy little spot to relax. She is friendly with people, does well with children, and has gotten along with the dogs she has been introduced to. She generally stays low in the pack hierarchy but will stand up for herself if another dog challenges her. She knows sit and come and will go into her crate when asked. Ozzie would do best in a home with a securely fenced backyard rather than an apartment. She does pull on the leash, and her house-training needs some continued work. She has also occasionally limped after long outings or jumping down from things. Her owner believes this is an old, recurring sore-leg issue that flares up when she overdoes it. She hasn't shown the same problem recently since her activities have been limited, but a veterinary evaluation would be wise. Ozzie's story is especially bittersweet. She was originally a gift from her daughter after the family's other dog was hit by a truck. Following the heartbreaking loss of her daughter this past year, her owner took in her daughter's two dogs and has made the difficult decision to rehome a couple of her own so she can continue caring for them. Ozzie deserves a family who appreciates her happy spirit, independence, and love of the outdoors. If you're interested, go to **Diggs4Dogs.com** and fill out an application.
