About Yoshi

Yoshi is a 5-year-old Catahoula Leopard Dog looking for an active, loving home. He was purchased from a breeder as a puppy and has spent most of his life on a rural property. Due to changes in his previous owner's circumstances, Yoshi has been in emergency boarding for over two months and is more than ready for a home of his own! Yoshi is an intelligent, affectionate, very high-energy dog who needs plenty of exercise, attention, and play. He would make an excellent running or hiking companion for someone who enjoys an active lifestyle. One of the most encouraging things about Yoshi is how quickly he warms up to new people. During a recent visit with someone he had only met a couple of times, he was friendly, attentive, and eager to interact. He enjoyed going for walks, playing in the yard, and getting treats. Within just a few hours, he was comfortable enough to offer his paws and even try to climb into their lap! Yoshi clearly loves human companionship and is eager for attention and affection. Yoshi is housebroken and even knows how to ring a bell when he needs to go outside. He knows some basic commands and would benefit from continued training and consistency. Yoshi would do best as the only dog in an adult home without children. He has had a couple of nipping incidents, particularly when tied up outside, and will need an experienced owner committed to positive training. A securely fenced yard is a must, and he cannot be tethered. He needs someone who understands his history and can provide structure, exercise, and a safe environment. Yoshi has a lot of love and energy to give. He's been waiting long enough for his next chapter.
