With a lot of sadness, we are looking to re-home our girl, Hana girlٴ Hana is a 4-year-old German Shepphard mix we fostered woth potential to keep, but sadly we have decided to let her go. We will be taking our time during this process to vet candidates because we truly want what is best for her and to find her the right forever home. Hana is a loving dog. When you ask her to sit, she will recuperate w/ loving eyes & warm moans ٪ She's used to being home w/ people (so work from home would be great.) She also is very trainable. In the 3 months we've had her, she has learned to walk better when seeing other dogs (she used to go crazy.) She also has slowed down her eating and learned commands such as; look, touch, spin, wait, etc. We exercise every day; take her for 2 walks and at least do a good hour at the dog park. In our opinion, Hana would love that lifestyle and prefer an active owner. A good backyard to roam would be a her dream, but she does have her limits. A good exercise and you will tell she's exhausted and ready to chill by your side. So, why are we not keeping her forever? Her biggest challenge has been, 'resource guarding.' She's very protective of me, and although that can be good, it can also be, not so good. In addition to me, she's also protective of her food, which we've trained her on scheduled meals, but if a slice of pizza accidentally fell to the ground and she grabbed it, we wouldn't recommend trying to take it away from her unless you distract her first. All this can be trained for sure....but... ...we have young kids and the tendency for them OR their friends that are visiting to drop food and just pick it up, is too much a risk for our family. Again, we are trying to train it 'out' of her, but it's a work in progress for sure. Because of this, we would strongly recommend, no small children for her. Hana's typical day is wake up and go potty in our backyard, then eat. Then chill, then go for a quick walk. While we work, in the house she hopes one of us takes her for a jog in the late morning/early afternoon. ٪ Then she chills and waits for dinner, then a quick walk and potty before calling it a night on her own bed. Hana is up to date on all vaccines. She is spayed and microchipped. She doesn't take any medications and is truly a good dog. She's healthy weight and we will miss her. Please contact me if you think you would be a good fit for this beautiful animal. Mahalo. ٪%8F%8F%BD
