About Joseph

Joseph is such a sweet, loving, fun, and goofy boy! If you're into handsome redheads, he's the guy for you! This was our family dog but primarily cared for by my teenage son as I'm a single mom. Unfortunately my son has fallen into problems with substance abuse and legal issues and is currently in residential treatment for the foreseeable future. Since he has been gone, Joseph has had to spend long days in his crate while I am at work and long stretches at the boarding facility every other week and it has been rough on him, causing some regression/anxiety (as exhibited by increased bathroom accidents and tearing up his blankets). I LOVE taking him to the dog park or playing in the backyard with him, but that's only doable a few times each week given my schedule. I am running out of funds to pay for my son's treatment and have to sell the house and move to a studio apartment and Joseph will not be able to come with. I want to find him a home that can provide for him better than his current situation. The ideal home would have more people (especially kids!), more dogs (he has yet to meet a dog he can't make friends with), and a little more space than our tiny backyard. He is also an avid swimmer and loves hoses/sprinklers. He loves jumping into the air to catch bubbles! He is also very cuddly but doesn't recognize that lapdogs aren't typically 70 lbs. I feel such heavy guilt for having to give him up but he deserves far better than what I can currently give him. I am happy to include his crate (he goes in very easily, especially with a treat!) and all other food, toys, supplies etc.
