URGENT FOSTER NEEDED!! This poor baby was born a stray and has lived as one all of his life. His mama is a stray who was dumped when she was pregnant. I've learned that some of her puppies made their way to different houses nearby, and so this guy's surviving litter mates are actually scattered around close neighborhoods. But, this baby stuck by his mama. I first saw the two of them in August, I have a picture that I took of this puppy in September, and I can share that. I can also share pictures of his littermates. When I last saw this puppy he was fine, some time passed and I didn't see him again until a few days ago. He now very clearly has mange and is miserable and suffering. I am working with a rescue and we are trying to catch this poor baby. There are two types of mange in dogs, one is contagious and one is not. Mange is easily treated with Simperica Trio or a similar medication either way (flea, tick, heartworm prevention), and dogs who already take prevention monthly are protected from even the contagious mange. This puppy will of course get Trio immediately, and then he will see a vet to have his skin cleaned, treated, IV antibiotics for secondary infection, steroids for itching, etc. etc. This puppy will recover if we can catch him. Once he is seen by a vet though, he needs a foster. Even a temporary foster. I have 5 fosters already. Everyone helping with this puppy right now has anywhere from 5 to 16 foster dogs as it is.
