Still looking for her forever family! We need to get Cookie in a new home situation without other animals so she can decompress easier. 5yr old female Chihuahua Mix 'ۢ Professional Cuddler & Blanket Burrower Looking for a little shadow who will follow you everywhere, steal your spot on the sofa, and happily snuggle the day away? Meet Cookie! %9D%A4%8F Cookie is a loving, affectionate Chihuahua mix with a BIG personality packed into a little body. She is happiest when she is right beside her favourite person, whether that's following you around the house, curling up on the sofa, burrowing under a fluffy blanket, or snuggling up with you in bed. Cookie isn't just a dog who enjoys your company. She wants to be wherever you are, whenever she can be! If you leave the room, she'll want to know where you've gone. If you sit down, she'll likely be right there beside you. And if you're heading to bed, you can bet she'll be ready to snuggle up too! %9D%A4%8F Personality: The Ultimate Velcro Dog! Cookie is an incredibly affectionate, people-loving little dog who absolutely thrives on human attention. Cookie is looking for someone who is happy to give her 1,000% of their love and attention because, in her world, there is no such thing as too many cuddles! She loves meeting new people and is always hopeful that everyone she encounters will stop for a fuss. She has so much love to give and wants nothing more than to share it with her humans. And when it comes to sleeping? Cookie is a professional! She absolutely LOVES to sleep, especially when she can do it right beside her person. Whether it's curling up in bed, snoozing on the sofa, or disappearing beneath a big fluffy blanket, Cookie knows how to make herself comfortable. She loves to nuzzle, burrow, and snuggle herself right into you. Fair warning: if Cookie is on the sofa, check under the blankets before sitting down. You might have a tiny, very comfortable Chihuahua hiding underneath! Cookie is also crate trained and comfortable in her crate, so she has a safe space of her own when she needs it. Her dream day? Spending time with her favourite person, enjoying a little walk, having a good snooze, and finishing the day snuggled up together. %90 How Is She With Other Cats? Cookie has been living with two cats for over a month, so we have had time to see how she behaves around them in a home environment. The honest answer is that Cookie would be happiest in a home without other pets. If the cats keep to themselves and Cookie has her own space, things can be peaceful. However, Cookie can be very protective of what she considers hers, including her space, belongings, and, most importantly, her humans. If a cat comes too close to her favourite person or enters an area she considers her own, Cookie may stare them down, growl, bark, or lunge towards them. She has not attacked the cats, but these behaviours show that she is uncomfortable with them getting too close. Cookie can also become protective around food if another animal approaches while she is eating. Her foster family has been working on this, and she has shown some improvement, but it remains an area that needs attention. Although Cookie has been living alongside cats, simply sharing a home does not mean she is comfortable sharing everything. She needs her boundaries respected, and any interactions with other animals require careful management. For these reasons, a pet-free home would be the best fit for Cookie, where she doesn't have to worry about sharing her space, belongings, or the attention of her favourite human. She has so much love to give, and we think she would be happiest having her person all to herself! %9D%A4%8F %90 How Is She With Other Dogs? Cookie has a little Chihuahua attitude that comes out when she's on walks! When she spots another dog, she can bark and growl and suddenly seems convinced that she is 150 pounds of pure muscle. She hasn't had enough opportunities to meet other dogs safely, face-to-face, for us to know how she would behave in a shared home. Because she can react strongly to other dogs, we cannot guarantee that she would be comfortable living with one. Her future family should be prepared to manage her reactions on walks and give her space when she needs it. Another reason we feel Cookie would be happiest as the only pet is that she could enjoy her home without having to compete for space, resources, or attention. | How Is She With Kids? Cookie has lived with a 12-year-old who absolutely adores her and treats her like his baby. She is comfortable being picked up and carried around by him. However, Cookie is a small dog who needs gentle handling and respect for her boundaries. Young children who may grab, pull, or handle her roughly would not be a suitable match, as Cookie may growl or nip if she feels uncomfortable. An older child who understands how to interact gently with a small dog would be a much better fit. %8D%BD%8F Food & Treats Cookie i
