About Lux

Lux is a handsome 6-year-old, 30-pound Miniature Australian Shepherd with a beautiful red coat and a wonderfully gentle personality. He loves people and has a quiet, soft nature that makes him an easy companion to have around. When you're outside, Lux likes to come stand close behind you and rest his paws against you, just to be part of whatever you're doing. He's affectionate in his own sweet way! Lux is a well-mannered boy who rarely barks, gets along with the dogs he has been introduced to, and is comfortable within a securely fenced area. He walks nicely on a leash without pulling, knows sit and come, and happily goes into his crate when asked. He has an average energy level, enjoying time outdoors but also knowing how to settle down. Lux can be shy when frightened and may run and hide if something scares him. Fireworks make him uneasy, although he generally retreats to his doghouse. He may bark when strangers first arrive, but quiets when asked. He has occasionally corrected other dogs over personal space, so thoughtful introductions and a respectful canine companion are important. His experience with cats is unknown. Lux has had surgery for bladder stones, an important part of his medical history for his future veterinarian. He is neutered and has received rabies and five-way vaccinations. He is accustomed to having people or other dogs around and has not had much experience being home alone, so he would benefit from a gradual transition and a family willing to help him adjust.
