HI, MY NAME IS HONDO, AND ALL I WANT IS A FAMILY TO CALL MY OWN. I'm about a year old, and I'm a 55 lb. Boxer mix. I want to tell you a little bit about my life. I spent most of my time locked inside a cage and wasn't taken outside regularly. Then one day, a miracle happened - my landlord (now, my Foster mommy) found me in a cage covered in my own feces. She stepped up to save me�'�|and that changed my life. My foster mommy thinks I may have been abused, too since I used to flinch whenever someone picked up a broom or reached a hand toward me. Now, I'm finally learning what it feels like to be a DOG! I live with 3 other dogs (big and small) and 3 cats, and I absolutely LOVE having buddies to run around with and play. And, I've even been gentle around small children that have come to visit. I'm also learning about this thing called a LEASH and now crate trained since I've learned that it can be a safe place instead of a prison. I'm learning that when someone loves you, you don't have to be afraid of them! Now I know what it's like to get treats, play, cuddle, take walks, and what being safe and valued feels like. I need a home with a HIGH, SECURE FENCE (unless I'm only being leash walked of course). Sometimes I get SO excited when I see another dog that I want to jump over the fence - I wasn't trying to escape to get away, I just want to meet a new friend! I know I'm not perfect and still have more to learn, but I have SO MUCH love to give. All I need now is someone who will look at me and say, 'You're home, Hondo. You're safe forever now.' Will you be the person who finally shows me what it feels like to be chosen?
