About Jack

Jack is a handsome 2-year-old German Shepherd mix with a beautiful black and tan coat, 78 pounds of unbridled doggie enthusiasm, and a pair of ears that can't quite agree on anything. One says, 'I'm ready to party,' while the other says, 'I may or may not be listening.' And that pretty much sums up Jack. This rambunctious, fun-loving guy has a wonderful zest for life and knows several tricks, including sit, shake, lie down, and roll over. He's smart, treat-motivated, and eager to learn, though he's still working on his leash manners and has apparently taken up parkour, occasionally trying to use unsuspecting humans as launching pads. But beneath all that enthusiasm is a sweet, good-hearted boy who can be anxious and unsure in unfamiliar situations. Jack needs a patient, confident owner who can provide the structure, training, and reassurance he needs. He's still building his confidence around other dogs, though he enjoys some rough-and-tumble play with the right companion. Given his energy and strong prey drive, a home without young children, cats, or other small animals would be best. With patience, training, and plenty of love, Jack has all the makings of a wonderful companion. Please consider coming by the shelter to meet this handsome guy.
