About Ava

Ava likes to stay within petting distance. Sit on the floor and she may settle right into your lap; sit on the couch and she wants the spot beside your legs. She is a nearly 3-year-old brindle mixed-breed dog, about 49 pounds and spayed. The breed label is a visual estimate. She enjoys a few zoomies and a neighborhood walk, then settles in with a chew or a nap. She is comfortable in her crate and has been making good progress with housetraining. Ava gets along with dogs and has done well with house cats. Older children would be a better fit; her foster has not directly observed her with children. She can be nervous on walks and needs patience and reassurance. A home with a yard would suit her. Her record lists her as heartworm positive. Team Memphis Rescue & Support will review her current treatment plan and care needs with interested adopters. Ava is currently fostered in Memphis, Tennessee.
