About Oscar

This is a very difficult and heartbreaking email for me to write. We rescued our sweet boy, Oscar (Shih Tzu), years ago, and we believe he is around 13 years old. He is neutered, weighs about 13 lbs, and truly has an old soul. He is one of the sweetest, happiest dogs you could ever meet. Oscar has a very calm, gentle demeanor and is a wonderful companion. He doesn't require a lot of attention or activity - he is simply a sweet boy who enjoys being loved and having a comfortable place to call home. Unfortunately, due to recent financial circumstances, I am no longer able to afford the ongoing costs of his care. I am reaching out to your rescue in hopes that you might have foster space or an opening in your senior dog program where he can safely transition to a home that can give him the attention and medical care he deserves. This is not a decision I am making lightly, and his well-being is my absolute priority. I want to be completely transparent about his current health needs so your team or a future foster can be prepared. Oscar has allergies that are currently managed with Apoquel and Zyrtec, and he is prone to yeast issues and ear infections. These conditions require ongoing medication and veterinary oversight. I have his complete veterinary history forms in hand and am more than happy to share or send them over for your medical team to review as a next step. He has so much love left to give, and my only wish is for him to spend his golden years in a safe, comfortable environment with someone who appreciates what a special little companion he is. Please let me know what next steps are required, or if there is an official intake application form I should fill out.
