About Calista

Calista Approximately 2 yr old female Great Dane. Spayed & UTD on vet care, vaccine & preventatives. Good with other dogs. Good with dog savvy cats as she would happily make them a playmate, not in a hurtful way, but as a friend which most cats don't appreciate. She was respectful when one cat popped her in the face, she took the queue and walked away. Kids 10+yrs old. She has not been exposed to young that we are aware of and isn't looking to start now. SECURE PHYSICALLY fenced yard REQUIRED due to her history as a stray. Housebroken and crate trained. Located in Nashville TN area. We adopt nationwide but require adopters to travel to Calista's foster home with their current dog/dogs (to ensure they will be friends) to pick up Calista Calista is a sweet, silly girl with the perfect mix of puppy energy and laid-back snuggle time! She loves to play but is also happy to chill out with you once she's gotten some of that energy out. Since settling into her foster home, Calista has blossomed in confidence and is no longer a shy girl. She happily greets new people and loves going on adventures to new places. This absolute love bug is ready to bring her silly personality and affection to her forever family! Calista was picked up as a stray not once, but TWICE. Because of this, a PHYSICALLY FENCED YARD IS REQUIRED for her safety. We have NO history on Calista because she was a stray, so her forever family will need to understand that there are things about her past we simply don't know. Calista initially tested a very light heartworm positive at the shelter. When retested at our vet, she tested negative. We then sent out a sample to a third-party laboratory for additional testing, which returned inconclusive results. After discussing her case with several veterinarians, we continued her slow-kill heartworm treatment while working toward a definitive answer. We're happy to share that Calista has now retested heartworm negative! Following her previous conflicting results, this is encouraging news for this sweet girl. Calista is spayed & UTD on vet care, vaccines and preventatives. She is currently being fostered near Nashville TN. We adopt NATIONWIDE but in require adopters to travel to Calista's foster home with their current dog/dogs (to ensure they will be friends) to pick Calista up. Out of respect for our foster family's time and privacy, we do NOT arrange meet and greet without an approved application on file.
