About Obsidian

This dashingly handsome gentleman is Obsidian, an approximately three year old kitty man who appears to be a Bombay/Domestic Mix. Much like obsidian the naturally occurring volcanic glass, his coat appears, depending upon the light, a jet black, dark brown or smoky gray. There is an air of intrigue and mystery to this kitty man as he often seems to look right through you as if he is peering into your soul. He truly seems ethereal as if glides seemingly from place to place without ever touching the ground. This ability to effortlessly transport himself without making a sound may well be a product of having lived in a very Walmart parking lot and stealthy navigating the abundance of traffic that daily traversed the busy lot. Obsidian the stone is regarded as a stone of protection, grounding, truth and emotional transformation. It is frequently used for shadow work and clearing negative energy which is exactly what this kitty guy did for his finder/feeder, a homeless gentleman who spent many a night in his vehicle waiting for morning and another day of searching for treasures to sell. Obsidian befriend the man and became his protector, a reason for him to get up and go about his day.to return nightly to feed and spend time with his new found kitty boy. The gentleman having bonded with other wayward kitty souls and been unable to save them reached out to me about Obsidian. It was arranged for him to bring Obsidian to me and that I would take Obsidian in as one of my rescues. While there was unfortunately a glitch in the transfer wherein Obsidian jumped out of the man's car and sought shelter under a shipping container, he was captured and secured after a three day wait of talking to him and pushing plates of food under the container. Obsidian has since then been an indoorser making fast friends with an elderly black rescue kitty name JackJack/One Eyed Jack, becoming his confidante and protector up until JackJack passed away. Obsidian now oversees a crew of six rescue kitties as they all wait to find their homes. Much like he did with JackJack he monitors his crew and offers insight. Obsidian loves to be petted and will look up with his big gold eyes to show his appreciation. He has learned to play with the Halloween wand and often catches himself after play almost as if he realizes that he is being too silly and must resume his watch. This week he was extremely intrigued by the Halloween Frisco cat track and seemed mesmerized as he managed to spin each of the three balls around their individual tracks at one time. After having done so he perched himself on the inside door stoop of his sun room residence and carefully began scanning the goings on surrounding him. He not only monitors the other kitties but also surveils the neighbors comings and goings from their house next door almost as if he is some type of international spy who will be reporting to a superior. As every good protector he has been neutered so as not to lose his focus and he has been rabies and distemper vaccinated and combo tested negative for feline leukemia and feline immunodeficiency virus. The only hold back to reaching his full potential is finding a human to call his very own. If this dear kitty man seems as if he could enlighten your life, please feel free to reach out to me.
