About Skye

Amazing, happy, full of love and complete innocence female American Akita who just celebrated her 4th birthday. Skye is truly the happiest, silliest and most loyal pup I've ever met. She loves with her whole heart and is coming from a family who loves her fiercely! Unfortunately due to personal circumstances we are no longer able to provide the home and life that she deserves. Skye is GREAT with her people, but can be wary of strangers. She has never bit or snapped at anyone, and has never even growled at her family. For whatever reason she doesn't seem to like children and will bark at them. She is definitely prey driven and should not be trusted around small animals. She has several male huskies she's been socialized with and plays great with them - but she is not spayed and sometimes that can be tricky. She honestly would probably do best in a home where she is the only pet and one that doesn't have young children. Skye is happy to do whatever you are doing whether it's watching TV (her favorite movie is Planet of the Apes), going on a hike, taking a nap, doing laundry or hanging out with friends and family. She is so smart and loves to play games, often entertaining herself by bouncing a ball and catching it or hiding a toy in a blanket then trying to find it. She has the innocence of a child and as always excited to explore every opportunity. She is fully trusting as she has never experienced anything bad. She's also super 'helpful' and will stand (upright) at the sink with you while you wash dishes, help you open packages, immediately unmake your bed, and ensure you poop and pee safely. She's honestly the best and I can't even finish writing this without crying. She has been my best friend for the past 4 years and is truly so special. This is honestly one of the most difficult decisions I have ever had to make. However, she deserves so much more than what we can give her now. We will be very selective about who her new family will be�'�|
