About Shiba

**Meet Shiba! ** Shiba's journey began thousands of miles away on the beautiful island of Dominica, where many animals face heartbreaking neglect, abuse, and limited access to veterinary care. On June 24, Shiba arrived in Florida alongside her friend Echo as part of a **Freedom Flight**, a rescue mission that transports animals from difficult and often dangerous conditions to safety, giving them a second chance at the lives they deserve. When Shiba and Echo first arrived, we believed they were a bonded pair. But as they've settled in and become more comfortable, we've discovered that they're actually quite independent and ready to find families of their own! Shiba is a beautiful, curious, and playful girl with a gentle personality. She's naturally shy around new people and prefers to observe from a distance before deciding it's safe to come closer. But behind that timid exterior is a sweet little girl who just needs someone willing to give her a chance. **One thing Shiba absolutely loves is the company of other cats!** She gets along wonderfully with her feline friends, and we truly believe she would thrive in a home with another friendly, confident kitty to help her feel comfortable and continue building her confidence. Shiba isn't the type of cat who will immediately jump into your lap or demand attention. Her affection is something you'll earn through patience, kindness, and consistency. And there's something incredibly special about watching a shy cat slowly learn to trust. She's fully vetted, litter box trained, and ready for a forever home where she can finally feel safe, loved, and secure. **Shiba has already traveled so far for a second chance. Now she needs a family who will look beyond her shyness and give her the loving home she deserves.**
