About Salem

Salem is a handsome, approximately 1-year-old Australian Shepherd with a big heart, a playful spirit, and so much love to give! He is incredibly smart, affectionate, and loyal, and once he bonds with someone, he loves being their little shadow. Salem is full of personality and enjoys being part of the action. Whether he's exploring outside, going on long walks, playing, or simply spending time with his favorite person, he's happiest when he has something to do and someone to share it with. As a young Australian Shepherd, Salem has plenty of energy and curiosity. He loves outdoor adventures, exploring new places, and activities that challenge his mind. One of his favorite things is a Kong filled with treats! He's a clever boy who thrives when he's given opportunities to stay physically and mentally active. Salem is looking for a home that can provide him with the time, attention, and structure he deserves. **An active household, ideally with plenty of outdoor space or a securely fenced yard, would be a wonderful fit.** Someone familiar with herding breeds or willing to invest in consistent training would be especially beneficial. Salem is deeply devoted to his people and can sometimes be protective of those he loves. He may bark or growl when unfamiliar people approach, so he would do best with a patient, understanding owner who can help him continue building confidence and positive social skills. He is accustomed to a household routine and spending time in his crate. However, he is still young and learning. He can struggle when left alone and may chew on or damage household items when unsupervised. He would benefit from continued training, enrichment, and a home where he isn't left alone for extended periods. **Salem is up to date on all vaccinations, is not currently neutered, and has no known medical concerns.** Rehoming Salem is not a decision being made lightly. He is a wonderful dog with so much potential, and I want to make sure he finds a home where he can truly thrive. He deserves a family who understands his energy, appreciates his intelligence, and has the time and resources to give him the active, fulfilling life he needs.
