About Raya

Raya was surrendered to the rescue as a litter surrender. She is up to date on all of her shots and microchipped. She does have an underbite, but has no known health issues. However she is not spayed and a spay/neuter contract will need to be signed to adopt her to ensure the safety of the pup. The Maltese is a no-shedding breed known for its playful, affectionate, and loving personality. They are great with older children and other pets and make wonderful companions for first-time dog owners and apartment dwellers. They enjoy playing around the house or yard and going for short walks with their family. They respond best to gentle, positive training with lots of praise and treats. Their beautiful white coat should be brushed several times a week and professionally groomed about every 8 weeks to keep it healthy and free of mats.
