We're looking to rehome our 11-month old dog Charlie. She is an American Staffordshire Terrier mix (heavy on the mix - but she's mastered the pitty eyes regardless). She's a very sweet girl, but space and time constraints have brought us to the difficult decision that our home might not be best for her. Some things about Charlie! She is about 50 pounds, is very high energy, and would do well in a home with lots of space to run around. She would also really benefit from another dog in the home, especially a dog that can match her energy. She's been exposed to cats, but her size and excitedness were overwhelming for our two - if there are cats in the home, it would be best for them to have been around dogs already. Her manners while walking have improved significantly - she still pulls occasionally, but tends to do very well on a leash now. She's good with seeing people and animals from afar, but sometimes gets excited and whines/barks in an effort to convince us to go meet them. She likes to play with a tennis ball outside, but often gets distracted and leaves it on the other side of the dog park for us to retrieve. She is thoroughly convinced she's a lap dog and loves to sleep right up against us (or laying on top of us). She loves to learn and knows sit, paw, down, come, and stay. She has had some issues with jumping and nipping while inside, likely due to not having enough stimulation and/or not being socialized as a younger puppy. She is not aggressive!! She just doesn't understand when she's going too far with playing. She needs an experienced owner that can effectively curb the mouthiness, and can train her to rein in her high energy levels. She also would benefit from socializing with other dogs/animals up close. She is up to date on all of her vaccines, is fixed and microchipped, and has been seen recently for her annual vet visit. The rehoming fee would be $150 and would come with her supplies (crate, food, bowls, toys, etc.). We are located in the Raleigh/Garner area. This has been an incredibly hard decision, but we want what is best for Charlie, and that would be a home with more space and a loving, patient owner with plenty of time.
