URGENT!!! PLEASE HELP RILEY! SHE IS ABOUT TO LOSE HER MOM, HER BEST FRIEND, AND THE ONLY HOME SHE HAS KNOWN FOR THE LAST 4 YEARS. DEADLINE'|NOVEMBER 18TH! RILEY DESPERATELY NEEDS A LOVING FOREVER HOME OR AN URGENT FOSTER FAMILY!!! I am writing this with an absolutely shattered heart. I thought we had more time. I thought we had until the beginning of the year to find my precious Riley another loving home. But life has taken an unexpected turn, and now WE ARE RUNNING OUT OF TIME. Four years ago, my beautiful Riley found her person. Her name is Sheryl. And for the last four years, these two beautiful souls have been inseparable. Riley is Sheryl's whole world. And Sheryl is Riley's. Sheryl is one of the most precious women you could ever meet. She is kind, caring, funny, and has a heart overflowing with love. And oh, how she LOVES her Riley. They are not just a woman and her dog. They are FAMILY. They are BEST FRIENDS. They are EACH OTHER'S EVERYTHING. Sadly, Sheryl has early-onset Alzheimer's disease. Her son has been making arrangements to move his mom to Texas so she can receive the care and support she needs and be close to family. I was originally told we had until the beginning of the year, but he was able to make those arrangements much sooner than anticipated. And now Sheryl will be leaving very soon. And Riley cannot go with her. I cannot begin to describe how heartbreaking this is. My heart is breaking for Sheryl. But my heart is also breaking into a million pieces for Riley. Because how do you explain to a dog that the person she loves most in this world is leaving and isn't coming back? How do you explain to Riley why her mom isn't there anymore? Why her familiar home is suddenly gone? Why the person she has loved, trusted, protected, and devoted her entire heart to for FOUR YEARS has disappeared from her life? You can't. Riley won't understand. She won't understand that her mom is sick. She won't understand that Sheryl loves her just as much today as she did yesterday. She won't understand that this separation is breaking her mom's heart, too. And what absolutely destroys me is the thought of Riley wondering if she did something wrong. If she wasn't a good enough girl. If somehow she wasn't loved enough to stay. Oh, sweet Riley, if only you could understand how very, very loved you are. Sometimes life is just so incredibly painful and unfair. Neither Sheryl nor Riley deserves this heartbreak. And while I cannot change what is happening, I am going to do EVERYTHING in my power to make sure Riley doesn't lose the feeling of being loved, safe, and wanted. SHE HAS ALREADY LOST SO MUCH. I CANNOT LET HER LOSE HOPE, TOO. PLEASE MEET OUR BEAUTIFUL RILEY!7 years young'|a petite, absolutely gorgeous German Shepherd princess! The sweetest, smartest, most loving girl with a heart of pure gold. She has the most BEAUTIFUL, soulful eyes. When you look into them, you can see just how much love this precious girl has to give. She LOVES playing with her toys! Yummy treats make her very happy! She does the CUTEST little zoomies when she's excited! Watching her joy is enough to make anyone smile. She is incredibly intelligent and knows lots of commands and tricks! She has SO MUCH personality and will fill your home with love, laughter, and companionship. She is housebroken and has wonderful house manners. She is naturally alert and takes pride in watching over her home and the people she loves. She is good with children. Riley needs to be the ONLY DOG in her new home. She deserves to be someone's one and only, their cherished princess, their whole world. And believe me, SHE HAS ENOUGH LOVE IN THAT BEAUTIFUL HEART TO FILL AN ENTIRE HOME!!! Riley isn't asking for much. She doesn't need a mansion. She doesn't need expensive toys or fancy things. She just needs someone to love.Someone who will look into those beautiful eyes and promise her that she's HOME. Someone who will let her curl up nearby and feel safe again. Someone who will laugh at her silly zoomies, spoil her with treats, play with her toys, and tell her every single day what a good girl she is. Someone who will love her through this heartbreaking transition and give her the patience, reassurance, and security she deserves. SOMEONE WHO WILL NEVER GIVE UP ON HER.
