This is an abandoned dog; found with no collar; placing lost ads have had no luck. I've had her about 10-12 days as of 10/28/26. I can't keep her because my dog is older and not friendly to her, and my older dog is experiencing a lot of anxiety (shaking and throwing up) when she has to be around this puppy; the puppy is just too boisterous and lots bigger than my poodle mix. My best guess is about 6 mths old. My guess is she's purebred but surely a strong mix of Amer Bulldog. She is a beautiful chestnut color - hard to find that color I think. She is very sweet, loves all humans, and wants to please. She loves the 9 yo girl next door, they play together in my yard. She is full of energy because she's a puppy, but she wants to understand what you want from her and is willing to do it (quick learner). On her first evening here, I got the treat bag out of the cabinet - when she saw it, she immediately sat down and waited until I offered it. She had never seen a dog door, but I worked with her for only two days on it and now she comes in/out freely. She absolutely loves hanging out in the backyard, playing with toys, watching chickens next door, squirrels... she will fetch a ball or toy and bring it to you. She's not a digger, but she did uproot and chew on my hydrangea roots. ?? For my dog, I leave food out 24/7 which I continued with this puppy, and she has not 'gorged herself.' She eats, then she's done, even though there are kibbles still in the bowl. I have not tried to collar or leash her (don't have either for her size). i truly hope someone is willing to give her a forever home. She's a lover but is eager to learn how to please you. I have not named her but have been simply calling 'hey girl, come here, come on' and she understands. She also understands 'no,' 'good girl' and that mom-sound of 'huh-uh' when you know your kid is thinking about doing something unacceptable. She's getting all those verbals quickly. She'll make a great family dog or a loving companion for a single person. I mean, look at that face!
