Maggie is sweet with us, but has bitten our other dog. She was a stray that we adopted two years ago. She is friendly with strangers if they act friendly to her. She may jump up on people who are not prepared to countermand the behavior. Too rough for small children. When we first took her in she wanted to play with our small Havanese dog, who snapped and snarled. After weeks of this, Maggie bit him. We now keep them separated, but she bit the Havanese again, when we slipped up. When on leash she barks furiously at small dogs. Maggie is very affectionate and loves to get close on a big enough couch. She has been trained to walk nicely and loves to go for long walks. She will Leave It, Sit and Stay and Go Crate. She wants to please and is eager for more training (and more training bits). She is happy to be in her crate. I especially enjoy digging in the garden with her. Maggie is fond of squeaky toys, but will destroy most quickly, but the Cheeky extra tough plush toys have withstood her play. She loves to play tug with rope, sticks, etc. She needs tough chew toys, like the nylon wishbone chews.
