I have had Gypsy for probably 20 years. She was at least a few years old then. She has been an excellent pet. She prefers females and has an affinity for blonds in particular. She says a few phrases, but her chatter is mostly garbled. She will chatter with inflection if her meals are delayed, then be mostly silent. She has always wanted to step up onto a shoulder and is very content there. Again, this has happened with blond women. When a man gets close to her cage she is not friendly. She has been fed a healthy diet of fruit, vegetables, nuts, Harrison's Bird Pellets, etc. She usually eats everything and enjoys variety. This Amazon species is one of the quieter ones, although if people around her get loud and boisterous she will too! My husband and I are moving into senior living and can no longer keep her. She has a large white corner cage and lots of toys. Price is negotiable for the right person. I expect her new owner to either have had experience with birds or to have researched their care. I am happy to help make the transition successful for all!
