Great Dane / Lab

Meet Goose! Location: Hartford, WI DOB: January 9, 2025 Goose is a handsome young Great Dane with a heart as big as his paws and a personality that's impossible not to love! This happy-go-lucky boy is outgoing, affectionate, playful, and always ready for his next adventure. Goose is a true social butterfly who loves meeting new people, playing with other dogs, and exploring the world around him. Whether he's hiking, chasing tennis balls, enjoying a car ride, or tagging along on a trip to the store, Goose is happiest when he's included in the fun. He's also a total Velcro dog! Goose loves being close to his people, often sleeping beneath his foster mom's desk while she works or checking on her throughout the house. He shows his affection through kisses, gentle leans, and enthusiastic greetings, even if you've only been gone for a few minutes! Goose is house-trained, crate-trained, and excellent in the car. He's still working on leash manners and impulse control, particularly when he's excited about going outside. He's a smart boy who responds well to consistent training and positive reinforcement. He can also jump over baby gates, so a secure environment is important. Goose does well with confident, social dogs and especially enjoys playing with canine companions of a similar size. He would love a compatible playmate but could also thrive as an only dog with plenty of exercise and social opportunities. He would not be a good match for smaller, anxious dogs who may struggle with his enthusiastic play style. His compatibility with cats is unknown. Goose has been wonderful with children ages six and older. He's gentle, affectionate, and tolerant, although his size and excitement make a home with older, dog-savvy children preferable. This energetic boy needs daily exercise, mental stimulation, and a family who enjoys an active lifestyle. He loves hiking, running, playing fetch, and enrichment activities. Once his needs are met, he's happy to relax and cuddle with his favorite humans. Goose can be a little anxious during transitions but settles beautifully with patience and routine. He would do best in a home where he isn't regularly left alone for more than eight hours. Goose is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and weighs approximately 80 pounds. He has a mild case of happy tail that his foster family is working to heal. Goose's ideal family will embrace his adventurous spirit, continue his training, and give him the love, companionship, and activity he deserves. If you're looking for a goofy, affectionate best friend who will happily join you on life's adventures and then curl up beside you at the end of the day, Goose might just be your perfect match!
