About Solomon

Solomon is another dog that unfortunately we know nothing about his past. We do know that he was picked up as a stray and brought in to a high-kill shelter. He spent a month there and after he received no interest, he was listed for euthanasia. What we now know about Saul after his arrival and spending the last week with him, he seems to do well with female dogs, but can be reactive to male dogs. This may change with more de-escalation so we will update as we learn more. He is a typical Shepard and if he is not given a job or a way to get energy out, that energy evolves into anxiety. Although Saul is an energetic, working breed, he also has a great 'off switch' and deescalates in his crate very well. As previously stated, we know nothing about his past, but due to his nervous tendencies and apprehension towards people in general, I think a safe bet is that he has not had good experiences with humans so far. But that anxiety, fear and tough guy energy seemed to melt away the first time I was affectionate with him. I went to give him a little head scratch and in response he closed his eyes and leaned into my hand and let out a big sigh of what I imagined to be relief. Affection does not seem to be something that Saul is very familiar with. If you think you are that person to show Saul what safety, love and loyalty look like, please reach out and we will get you scheduled to meet him.
