Chicago Animal Care & Control/CACC is often critically over capacity, which is now, so then has to euthanize good doggies due to lack of space!!! Crapshoot which dogs are chosen. Pure bred Shepherds are not adoptable through CACC, can only go through a rescue org to foster or foster to adopt, therefore harder to get out to safety. The following info. is from the rescue org: Gidget is about 2 years old, came in as a lost doggie, sadly no one has come for her. Was pretty easy to leash up and no issues with handling, very food motivated, knows sit, down and paw. Loves to play fetch, is described by the volunteers at the shelter as 'wicked smart' & 'very sweet'. Did well with another dog on leash at the shelter. Mit Liebe German Shepherd Dog Rescue is taking applications for cutie Gidget, if live in Chicago, north of Chicago, Wisconsin, and part of Michigan (https://www.mlgsdr.com/) and German Shepherd Rescue, Inc., if live in Chicago/Chicagoland area/part of Indiana (https://gsrescue1.org/ ). Please apply to whichever is applicable, even both, if within the boundaries. PLEASE, if have room in your heart and home for cutie Gidget, apply! Once application is sent, please email link below, so I can give them a heads up, but for specific questions regarding cutie Gidget, need to contact the rescue orgs. If process is unclear, can also email the link below and will clarify. Thank you. If want to see other Shepherds/Shepherd mixes very much in need of good homes-foster or foster to adopt, please scroll down and click on, 'Chicago Animal Care and Control', left hand side. Please.
