About Johnny

Meet Johnny !! This sweet hound puppy is so happy and playful. He is looking for an awesome family to share all his energy and silly antics with!! Johhny is a 6 month old male. He's a hound and weighs approx 30 pounds. He's already neutered, microchipped and updated on vaccines. He is on flea and heartworm prevention. This beautiful boy is a typical happy, quirky and goofy hound. He will make a wonderful family dog for anyone wanting an active playful guy that is incredibly sweet and loyal. Johnny is still perfecting all of his training. He is entering the adolescent stage of puppyhood and has a lot of energy to burn off so he can be his best self. He is very social and loving and does well with listening when his exercise needs are met. He has been great with all the dogs he has met. He can be a little bit much for smaller dogs or dogs that dont like to play. He loves to roughhouse and play with another active dog. He has not been around cats but we think he may be too much for them. His love of the chase would likely scare cats. He is not fostered with kids but is said to be good with them. As sweet and loving as he is we suspect he would love children. He may jump on them a bit but he has not shown any aggression about anything. He is good in his crate but will bark and whine for a few minutes when first left in it. He sleeps in the crate all night and when his foster family is not home. He is excellent on car rides. He does really well on the leash with a little reminder not to pull at the beginning and if he sees a squirrel. He has been doing some outings to events in public and does extremely well walking around and meeting everyone. Johnny loves to play fetch and loves terrorizing his squeaky toy collection. He also loves treats and bones. He has not shown any issues sharing food, treats or toys around humans or other dogs. He takes treats very gently and knows how to sit. He would be a great dog if you are looking to go to breweries, market events etc. He loves everyone. His one downfall at the moment is he is still trying to figure out potty training. He is an over drinker which causes him trouble with peeing inside. Limiting his water intake to a normal level and being consistent with getting him outside enough will help. He also needs time to potty outside without being too distracted by other dogs to play with. He is learning but will need a family willing to finish up his training. Johnny has a pretty high energy level. He is high on life and LOVES to play. He really needs a family that understands he will need to release all of that energy a few times a day. If not dogs get pent up and start having negative behaviors. He would do best with lots of physical and mental exercise each day. Walks, fetch, playing games, DIY obedience sessions, outings etc will all keep his mind and body tired. Overall, this guy has a stellar personality. He is gorgeous and so sweet.
