%9D%A4%8F This is a really hard post for me to make. About two years ago, we adopted Boone, a Pit Bull/Lab mix. He really is a good dog, but over time, he has become very protective and territorial over me. Unfortunately, this has resulted in a biting history. Boone has had a few informal training sessions and responded really well, but he needs someone who can give him the time, structure, and consistency he deserves. With everything going on in my life right now, I have to admit that I just don't have the emotional capacity or time to give him what he needs. I've reached out to the shelter, but they are unable to take him because of his bite history. The hardest part is that Boone currently has an appointment on November 1 to be put down if I cannot find another safe option for him. I don't want this to be how his story ends. I know he has behavioral challenges, and I also understand that I have a responsibility to keep others safe. I'm praying someone knows of a rescue, experienced trainer, or behavioral specialist who might be able to help us find a safe solution for Boone. Please understand that this isn't a decision I'm making lightly. Sometimes loving an animal means admitting you aren't able to give them everything they need. If you know someone who may be able to help before November 1, please reach out. %9D%A4%8F
