About Raya

Raya is a loving, affectionate 5-year-old Pit/Husky/Lab mix looking for a fresh start with the right person. She is playful, intelligent, energetic, and deeply devoted to her people. She has historically enjoyed playing with unfamiliar dogs in appropriate settings, but she has experienced serious conflicts with certain dogs in a household environment. Raya needs to be the only dog in her home. We are looking for an experienced, patient adopter who can provide a calm, structured environment, consistent routines, and responsible management around other dogs. An adult-only home would be ideal. Raya deserves the chance to thrive in an environment suited to her needs, where her loving personality can shine. We are committed to complete transparency about her behavioral history and will provide her records and work with qualified professionals to support a safe transition. Clarification of Raya's Behavioral History Raya is affectionate and loving toward people, but she has a documented history of conflict with certain dogs in a shared household. She has historically interacted and played appropriately with unfamiliar dogs in settings such as dog parks and lived peacefully with a male dog in her home for several years. However, she has experienced intermittent fights with particular female dogs, including a recent serious fight that resulted in a person being significantly injured while attempting to intervene. These incidents appear to have occurred within specific household dynamics, but we cannot guarantee that her behavior around other dogs will always be predictable. For this reason, Raya must be placed in a single-dog household with an experienced, responsible adopter who understands the importance of careful management and professional behavioral support. Our priority is to be fully transparent while giving Raya the opportunity to thrive in an environment suited to her needs. We want her future family to understand both her affectionate nature and the seriousness of her behavioral history so they can make an informed, responsible decision.
