About Meeko

This sweet face belongs to Meeko, a 2.5 years old purebred Australian Cattle Dog (per DNA). She weighs about 36 pounds. Meeko is a smartie who knows sit, down, stay, and come. She quickly figures out dog puzzles! Meeko loves to fetch and can catch a ball midair. She also has fun playing with a soccer ball. Click on the red YouTube button to see her fetching. She is also used to suing a treadmill for exercise on rainy days. Meeko is house trained and getting used to the crate. Meeko is good with people, including older kids. She likely isn't a fit for small kids. Meeko is good around other dogs, and walks politely past dogs while in walks. Like all Cattle Dogs, she will bark if barked at. She also is likely best living with a male dog her size or larger. A home with another dog will need to meet her to be sure the dogs get along. Meeko is good on leash and sometimes needs a reminder not to pull, as she is excited to go out for a walk. She is good in the car, especially if on a dog seatbelt or crate. Meeko is generally confident and would be good in a suburb or country setting. A busy city neighborhood might be too busy for her. Meeko got a clean DNA test without markers for typical herder issues, so we anticipate she will live a long and healthy life. Meeko is smart, loving and athletic. She loves cuddling and just resting the top of her head against you. She wants to please you and will do her best to follow commands, but part of her charm is her spunky big personality. She loves hugs and will hug back. She loves to play but will also be happy to sit at your feet with her head on your feet. This girl id a great dog for someone who will keep up with her training and knows how to keep a herder happy. Meeko is spayed, microchipped, started on puppy vaccines.
