Cooper is looking for his forever home. %BD%BD%BD%9D%A4%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%8F Cooper is an adorable 15-week old Toy Schnauzer who has a lot going for him. House and crate training are progressing beautifully. He walks on a leash, loves to play, and is incredibly cuddly. And obviously - he is ADORABLE! Cooper is a little bit insecure and isn't a fan of his brother's rough play attacks. He is especially uncomfortable around dogs he does not know. Some of his cuddliness comes from his insecurity - when Cooper finds something or someone that makes him feel safe he tends to latch on. Because of that, Cooper's ideal owner is not someone looking for a puppy to turn into a 'baby'. As tempting as it will be to scoop him up and reassure him whenever he is uncertain, too much coddling can make it harder for him to develop the independence and confidence he needs. Cooper needs an owner who is willing to put real effort into proper socialization and confidence building while he's still young. Socialization means more than simply meeting other people and dogs. He needs positive, structured exposure to new people, dogs, places, sights, smells, sounds, and experiences - and opportunities to learn that he can navigate the world confidently without always relying on his person to make him feel safe. His ideal forever home will be in Brevard County with someone committed to continuing Cooper's training with me. If you live outside of Brevard County and are interested in Cooper please do reach out anyway and we can talk about other training options. The primary focus should be on confidence building and proper socialization. His new owner should also be willing to actively participate in that process. That means taking Cooper to new places regularly and arranging for a variety of people to visit the home. A puppy who happily meets strangers out in the world doesn't automatically learn that unfamiliar people entering his home are equally safe, so both experiences are important. Cooper is only 15 weeks old, which means there is still a wonderful opportunity to work on these things while he is still developing. With the right combination of structure, exposure, training, and affection I think this sweet little guy has tremendous potential! Rehoming and training fees will apply. The priority is finding the right home for Cooper - someone who understands what he needs and is genuinely committed to helping him become a confident, well-adjusted adult dog. If you think you might be the right person for Cooper, please contact me and I will send you an adoption application. NOTE: It says 'Adoption Fee to Myself' but the fee will go to the owner. I am posting for the owner.
