Indy is a 3-year-old purebred German Shepherd looking for a loving forever home. We're a military family who originally planned to stay in Indiana until my husband retired, but we've received orders to California, and unfortunately, military housing only allows two dogs. Rehoming Indy has been an incredibly difficult decision, and we're doing everything we can to find him the perfect family. Indy is an affectionate, loyal, energetic boy who loves attention, hiking, car rides, and spending time with his people! He's extremely food-motivated, responds wonderfully to training, is housebroken, and walks beautifully on a leash. He does great with other dogs but can be reactive and bark when meeting new people or dogs. Indy has been around children of various ages and has had many positive interactions with them! He's generally curious and does well with respectful children. When we first rescued him nearly three years ago, there were a couple of incidents where he lunged or attempted to nip when younger children got too close or overwhelmed him. However, he hasn't displayed that behavior in over two years and has had many positive interactions with children since! We still believe he'd do best with older children or a family experienced with German Shepherds who understands canine boundaries. Indy has a sensitive digestive system and does best on a high-quality diet. He's currently eating Purina Pro Plan Sensitive Skin & Stomach with omega-3 oil and probiotics. He is not neutered or up to date on vaccinations. We're hoping to find a patient, loving family who will give him the attention, exercise, and care he deserves. We're not asking for a rehoming fee. Finding the right home is our biggest priority. Located in Greencastle, Indiana. Please message me if you're interested in giving Indy a loving home! %9D%A4%8F
