About Rufus

We pulled Rufus to safe his life. This sweet boy had only been at the shelter for a few weeks. We got to meet him for the first time the other day and he was LOVELY! He was relaxed and friendly in his kennel, nonreactive when walking past other dogs, affectionate, smart, and playful in the yard. He was the GOODEST BOY! He's been in playgroup with other pups once and was described as 'soft' around the other dogs and would easily panic if other dogs scared him. Sadly, Rufus was put into bite quarantine following a MINOR bite incident with a vet staff member when being sent for neuter at the clinic next door to the shelter. A shelter staff member handled him after the incident and noted he was 'friendly, food and treat motivated, able to handle, leash, walk, vaccinate.' Despite being able to be handled by everyone else without issue, Rufus is sALERTED & DEADLINEDs for the minor level 2 bite that he inflicted on the vet staff member. He dies on MONDAY 10/19 anytime after 8AM. He is available for adoption or rescue at South Los Angeles Shelter. Hoping a responsible human can save this sweet boy before it's too late.
