Wally is a female white lab mix, approximately 6-8 months old, and about 40 pounds. She was found very undernourished along a highway in the Zunis on the Arizona border. She tested negative for parasites except giardia, which they treated, and she is now chipped, spayed, and up to date on vaccines. Her rescuers originally intended to keep her (they named her Wally in honor of Wally Funk, a pioneering woman aviator), but Scooter, a young male dog in their household, has been aggressive during attempts to introduce them. Wally gets along well with Holly, their young female dog, and she is very curious about the cats, though she has not had direct contact. Wally is very affectionate with adults but has no direct experience with children. So far, she has learned 'Sit' and 'Focus', and they are working on her leash-walking skills. Wally would do well in a house with another friendly dog and humans who enjoy making their pets part of their active lifestyle. If you're interested in meeting Wally, come to our adoption event on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month from 11am-2pm, located at 6300 San Mateo NE in the south Sprouts parking lot. Alternatively, we can arrange a Private Meet-and-Greet with the foster parent and your household with a completed application.
