About Maple Waffles

It breaks my heart to write this, but I am looking for the perfect forever home for my sweet boy, Maple Chai Waffles. I adopted him from Tacoma Humane, and while I have completely fallen in love with him, his high energy and bold personality are causing too much stress for my two resident cats, who prefer a much quieter lifestyle and I just want to avoid taking him back to a Shelter. Maple is a gorgeous, medium-haired golden orange boy with a magnificent fluffy tail and perfect little white socks. He is an absolute lovebug once he settles into a space. He loves to lay right on your chest or shoulder, purring loudly, and he'll even stand up on his hind legs to lean into your legs for head rubs when you walk into the room. He is also incredibly talkative! He will follow you around the house chatting in the cutest little chirps and trills to tell you all about his day. He is also a total athlete with a ton of fun, teenage-like energy. He loves high places, jumping on counters, and has quite literally parkoured off the walls during a fun game of chase. He loves to chase toys and be chased around the room. Because Maple was found outside as a stray before the shelter rescued him, he still has a few 'street cat' habits and boundaries. If you move your hands too quickly around him or startle him, he can get nervous and might give a quick warning swat or nip to ask for space. He just needs a patient owner who understands cat body language and uses a gentle, light touch at first. Once he knows he is safe, that defensive side completely melts away and he is so sweet and cooperative. He also loves chicken more than anything and will try to grab it right out of your fingers! Maple has great cat social skills, he slow-blinks and tries so hard to make friends-but he just has too much octane for my laid-back cats. He would be happiest either as an Only Cat where he can get 100% of your attention, or with another very high-energy, social cat who actually wants a sturdy chasing and wrestling partner. He would do best in a home without small children where his boundaries are respected.
