# Meet Layla! %BD%BD%90%BE A Loving, Playful Girl Looking for Her Forever Home! Layla is a beautiful, 19-month-old, spayed American Bully with a big personality and an even bigger heart! She is incredibly friendly, outgoing, affectionate, and full of love. Layla has never met a stranger! She loves greeting people enthusiastically, giving kisses, and being part of the action. Although she gets very excited when first meeting someone, she typically settles down within a few minutes and becomes a surprisingly calm, relaxed companion. **Personality & Playtime** Layla loves to run, and she is FAST! She's athletic, energetic, and enjoys playing. She also loves having things to chew, especially her chew bones. She is still in a chewing phase and needs appropriate toys, supervision, and continued guidance. She very rarely barks, which is a wonderful quality! Because she's so enthusiastic, Layla sometimes jumps up, paws at people, or accidentally scratches while trying to play. She doesn't mean to hurt anyone-she simply hasn't fully learned to manage her excitement or understand her size and strength. **Training & Manners** Layla has received formal obedience training and already knows quite a few commands! - Sit, lie down, heel, and 'leave it' - 'Drop it,' although she's still working on consistency - Come when called, most of the time - 'Get in' for her crate She is crate trained, although occasionally she'll humorously roll onto her back instead of going in! She has learned to heel using her training collar and responds well to structure and consistent guidance. She has a great foundation but needs someone with the time and patience to continue reinforcing her training, especially when she's excited. **Other Pets & Children** Layla lives with cats and generally gets along with them, although her playful energy can sometimes be a little much, and the cats will retreat when they've had enough. She has also interacted with smaller, older dogs who aren't afraid to let her know when she's being too rambunctious. Because of her size and enthusiasm, interactions with smaller animals should be supervised. Layla has never bitten anyone. She went through a typical puppy-nipping phase when she was younger but has outgrown that behavior. She would do best in a home with older children or adults who understand energetic dogs. She can unintentionally knock younger children over during play. Recently, she knocked a child down, resulting in scrapes, but there was no biting involved. **Why I'm Rehoming Her** This has been a difficult decision, and it is not one I've made lightly. I'm a single mother balancing full-time employment, graduate school, and family responsibilities. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to give Layla the time, exercise, space, and consistent training that she deserves. She is a wonderful dog with so much potential, and I want her to have a home where she can truly thrive. **Her Ideal Forever Home** I would love to find Layla a home with an experienced, patient, loving owner who has the time to exercise her, continue her training, and give her plenty of affection. A securely fenced yard or access to safe running and exercise opportunities would be ideal. Because she is strong, fast, and still learning her manners, she needs someone comfortable handling an energetic young dog. She is spayed, has received formal training, and I have her complete genetic testing results available. Layla has so much love to give. With the right person, consistency, and opportunities to burn off her energy, I truly believe she will be an amazing companion. My greatest wish is to find her a safe, loving, permanent home where she can be happy, active, and cherished. %BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%90%BE
