Sev is a black lab mix. He's nine years old and I have been his only owner. I am enlisting in the military and because I have no family I am unable to find him a home. He is severely anxious and will shut down if I am not around. He won't eat, he will not allow anyone to take him outside, and he gets growly and nippy if someone tries to move him. He gets along very well with cats, was great with other dogs when he was younger but hasn't been around one in years. He's a good boy I swear, so spry for his age and takes good care of his toys. He's low energy most of the time, likes to sit on the couch and lay in bed but does zoom around the backyard occasionally. Hes afraid of loud noises, thunder, yelling, and children. He's not food regulated, he just eats when he is hungry out of a large food bowl and is not overweight. If someone could just take the time to work with him I know he would eventually adjust to a new environment but shelters around us have rejected his applications due to his temperament and lack of experience with children. I have failed this dog as an owner - No matter what avenues I try all I am getting are euthanasia suggestions. He's being examined in three days and will be put to sleep next week if I cannot find anywhere for him to go. Please. I am begging anyone to help me, this is my last option and he is the only family I have ever had. I don't want to end his life this way. I want him to be safe and happy in his golden years as he is so healthy still at his age. Any help from anyone would be greatly appreciated. Please. He's my boy, I love him and this shatters my heart.
