About NOVA

BDRA is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) charity that accepts no fees when helping individuals or other rescues. 100% of donations go directly to the care of the animals. If you'd like to help us continue our mission, please donate at: https://www.blinddogrescue.org/donate-1. Name: Nova Age: DOB 6/6/21 Breed: Husky, 50 pounds Sex: Female (spayed) Location: San Diego County, California Sweet Nova needs a new home. Vet Info: Nova has glaucoma in both eyes. The right eye developed in 4/2024 and the left in 9/2025. Nova is microchipped and spayed. She is current with her vaccinations and is HW-. Nova is in good health but does have a sensitive stomach. Dog Info: Nova is a sweet and easygoing girl, she is an indoor dog with the run of the house. She is leash trained and enjoys going on walks. Nova has gone to obedience classes and knows the commands: sit, down, stay and paw. She is outgoing and good with men, women, and children of all ages. She is good with both male and female dogs. It is unknown how she is with cats, she hasn't had any exposure. Nova is not possessive with treats, toys or food and has never shown any aggression at all. Nova is somewhat housebroken but does not reliably signal when she needs to go out. This has nothing to do with her vision issues. At times, she will hold it for 12 hours, at others, she can't. It is very random - she will do well for months, and then for two weeks will have accidents. Nova has gone for UTI testing, and others as well, there is no medical explanation. Nova might do better in a home with a dog door. **Owner Surrender Disclaimer: These are blind and visually impaired dogs who are living in homes, but their owners can no longer keep them.
