Hello everyone, Looking to unfortunately rehome our beautiful 2 year old dog Penny. She is a mix of Border Collie and Great Pyrenees, we had her DNA tested (random breeds also like American leopard hound). We rescued her as a puppy from a certified shelter. She is up to date on all her vaccines as well as neutered. She is coming from an amazing home but she just turned out to not be the right fit for it. She is an absolute love and has a lot of affection. She is very playful and loves attention. She loves to sprint around the yard. A little bit after rescuing her we found out that she has a lot of anxiety. She became very nippy and bit one of our sons. She also attacked our cat and the cat had to have stitches. After several vet visits she was prescribed Prozac to which she takes daily. We didn't want to give up on her so we had an in home trainer come and work with her and from his stand point it is the breed and anxiety. She will do things like sit and stay on command she is house trained as well as crate trained. She loves our other dog buster but yesterday she unfortunately attacked him when she was in bed with my wife and buster jumped on the bed causing buster to have several stitches at the vet. Level 3 bite. She seems to be very possessive over my wife and I. We feel like that's what caused the attack. But we can't figure it out. We don't want to put her down! We know she has huge potential and a huge heart and would do better in a home with adults that do not have young kids and other pets. If there is any chaos she feels she needs to do something. She has been at doggie daycare for overnights and done fine. We have had guests stay for weeks and she has been great with them (though male humans entering home have been more an issue- she seems to be protective as I mentioned). Most of the time she is very kind and has a silence sweetness to her and likes to sniff our faces. It is just these other moments we feel are too much for our household dynamics. Please contact us with any questions. We want to be fully transparent regarding the issues she has had but also the incredible dog she is. We hope there is an owner out there that is perfect for her. We can provide all documents regarding her adoption and vet care. She is microchipped and up to date with all vaccinations. We can provide the medication for a couple months and also provide additional if needed after. Will provide a large dog crate to go with her.
