About Strawberry

Strawberry is a beautiful grey-and-white Husky mix, just a little over a year old and about 55 pounds of sweetness, affection, curiosity, and love. And there's something else you should know about Strawberry. While at the shelter, she underwent surgery to remove her right eye (enucleation) due to painful glaucoma. But that chapter is behind her now! Strawberry has healed beautifully, is finally free from that pain, and hasn't missed a beat. Having one eye certainly hasn't slowed this girl down. She runs, plays, explores, and enjoys life right alongside the best of them! Strawberry maybe doesn't see the world quite the way other dogs do, but she embraces every bit of it with the same joy and enthusiasm. And if there's one thing Strawberry takes particularly seriously, it's her kids. You see, Strawberry absolutely ADORES children. In fact, she has appointed herself their unofficial little guardian, making her rounds to check on 'her' kids as though making sure everyone is present, accounted for, and doing just fine. Nobody assigned her that job. She simply decided it was hers. But there's so much more to this sweet girl. When Strawberry first arrived in foster care, she was a little timid and unsure of herself. And while she can still be shy when meeting someone new, her confidence has blossomed beautifully. Her foster family is incredibly proud of how far she's come. And watching a once-timid dog begin to trust, play, explore, and discover that the world can be a wonderful place? That's one of the most rewarding things about fostering. Strawberry is discovering just how wonderful life can be. Now she just needs a family to share it with!
