About Alara

Alara was surrendered to the rescue as a litter surrender. She is up to date on all of her shots and she is microchipped. She has no known health issues. However she is not spayed and a spay/neuter contract will need to be signed to adopt her to ensure the safety of the pup. The Havanese Shih Tzu mix is a low-shedding mix known for its sweet, affectionate, and playful personality. They are great with children and other pets when properly socialized and make wonderful companions for first-time dog owners. They enjoy playing, running around the house or yard, and spending quality time with their family. They respond best to gentle, positive training with lots of praise and treats and should not be encouraged to bark excessively. Due to their small size, children should be taught to handle them gently. Their coat should be brushed several times a week and professionally groomed every 8 to 12 weeks to keep it healthy and free of tangles.
