About Birdie

Incoming dog Birdie needs a foster and will be arriving to FL 10/24. Meet Birdie - A Working Dog Who Deserves Someone to Work for HER for Once. Birdie is a 3-year-old Border Collie who knows what it means to have a job. She wasn't just a dog sitting on a couch - she was a working dog who went on trail rides alongside horses. She's spent her life with a purpose, doing what Border Collies were bred to do: work, move, think, and be someone's partner. And now? Birdie and her brother have been dumped at a rural shelter, left behind with an uncertain future. The shelter is so remote that access to veterinary care is extremely limited. These two deserve better than to be discarded and forgotten after everything they may have given to someone. Birdie is good with other dogs, but we're still learning about her life indoors. We don't know if she's housebroken or how she does with cats. She is not yet spayed. Birdie needs someone who understands the heart of a working dog. Someone who will give her purpose, adventure, structure, and, most importantly, a forever home where she'll never be disposable again. She has spent her life being someone's working partner. Now it's time for someone to be HER partner. Can you foster or adopt Birdie and help give this girl the future she deserves
