Imagine giving your whole heart to a family, loving them unconditionally, believing you would grow old beside them only to be abandoned by the very people you trusted most. That is how Kardi's heartbreaking journey began. At 7 years old, Kardi found herself in a shelter, alone, confused, and eventually placed on the KILL LIST. Her life was almost over, through absolutely no fault of her own. Then, just in the nick of time, she was SAVED. For the first time in a long time, there was hope. Kardi was given a foster home, a soft place to sleep, and a chance to experience what every dog deserves - safety, kindness, and love. But now, just a few short weeks later, Kardi is losing her home AGAIN. Her foster's resident dog isn't accepting her, and the foster can no longer manage keeping them separated. And just like that, this sweet girl's world is being turned upside down once more. Kardi didn't do anything wrong. She didn't fail anyone. Yet she is the one who stands to lose everything. AGAIN. How many times can one dog's heart be broken before someone finally says, 'You're safe now. You're staying. I'm never giving up on you.' PLEASE, SOMEBODY BE THAT PERSON FOR KARDI. Kardi is not a problem dog. She isn't difficult. She isn't asking for anything extraordinary. She is an A+ DOG who has been dealt a heartbreaking hand. MEET BEAUTIFUL KARDI 7 years young, 73 pounds of pure love. Sweet, mellow, affectionate, playful, and devoted. Has shown friendly interactions with other dogs, though any new placement will need thoughtful introductions and a compatible household. Loves car rides, baths, and playing in the water. Knows 'sit' and 'paw' and enjoys fetch, tug-of-war, and treats. Fully vetted, spayed, and microchipped. Most of all, she just wants to be CLOSE TO HER PEOPLE. While in foster care, Kardi has been happiest simply curling up beside her people while they work or relax. She doesn't need constant entertainment or a perfect house. She just wants to belong. A soft bed. A gentle hand. Someone to look at her and see a family member, not an inconvenience. Kardi has already escaped death once. PLEASE don't let her end up back in a shelter or at risk again because nobody stepped forward. We desperately need a RELIABLE, COMMITTED FOSTER OR ADOPTER - someone who understands that bringing an animal into your home is a commitment, not something to walk away from when life gets complicated.
