About Gertrude

Meet Gertrude ! With her adorable folded ears, this beautiful girl is looking for a loving forever home. Gertrude would do best as the only cat in the household, although she may also do well with one other calm, cat-friendly companion. A home with multiple cats would not be ideal for her. She deserves a peaceful environment where she can feel comfortable. Gertrude comes from a wonderful rescue in Kuwait that helps cats rescued from the streets and the black market. Sadly, many of these cats have very little chance of finding loving homes locally, so the rescue works hard to give them a second chance by finding forever families overseas. Arrival: November 24 - Miami International Airport Breed: Scottish Fold Gender: Female Ideal home: Only cat or possibly one other cat Airport pickup in Miami is required. Adoption fee: $450 This fee helps cover her veterinary care and international transportation from Kuwait to the USA. A Little Note About Their Health: The cats coming from this rescue are generally healthy and receive veterinary care before traveling. However, it is a long journey, and the stress of international travel can sometimes trigger an upper respiratory infection. This does happen occasionally and is usually treatable, although antibiotics are only needed in certain cases. As with any animal arriving from overseas, we always recommend a veterinary checkup shortly after arrival, even if the cat appears perfectly healthy. We want adopters to be aware and prepared. Adoption Requirements: * Completed adoption application * Video tour of your home, or an in-person home visit if you live nearby * Must be able to pick her up at Miami International Airport on November 24 * A loving, stable home without too many other cats These cats are rescues, not cats being imported for resale. Our goal is simply to help them find the safe, loving forever homes they deserve. Please contact me if you are seriously interested in adopting Gertrude!
